This game is very very hard. Trying to get better without professional help and modern technology is a daunting, frustrating and sometimes hopeless pursuit. ROK Golf was created by an avid golfer who wanted the best facility to get better at golf, but could not find one! Everything you need (the best technology, the best instructors, the best atmosphere) and nothing you don't all indoors so you can fit lessons, practice and play into your schedule!

The process is fairly straight forward. However, the implementation is far more complex.
1) Determine what is wrong. 2) Devise a plan to fix what is wrong. 3) Execute the plan with reps, reps, reps, reps and more reps.
Seems easy on paper but implementing this process is far from easy especially if working alone!
Every person is different and so is their version of the "golf swing". Thereby every strategy to improve someone's golf swing is different and that is why instructors are critical!
It starts with understanding WHY, cause and effect, if we do this, that will happen. Why is the ball going left / right? Why is ball not going further? Why do we want to do ___________ in the golf swing?
The vast majority of amateur players, even very good ones, do not understand the golf swing or have a very shallow understanding. Being able to shoot a good number does not mean you have a deep understanding the golf swing nor the ability to fix someone else.
The path to a better swing varies by player, it is rarely the same. Do you start with rotation, using the ground, hand path, centers, angles, backswing, thru swing? The answer is never the same.
here are basic patterns you see in all the most great golf swings, but how they are achieved is almost always unique. We start by understanding you. Your strengths, your weaknesses, your preferences, you injuries and what limitations they may inflict. Then we build a swing that will get the best results for you. That swing will not look like a tour player (in most cases), and it will not look like your buddy who is a scratch player. You are you. Do you, don't try to be someone else. Can we learn from those other people? Absolutely! But a 46 year old with a destroyed lower back from an old skiing accident who can barely touch their toes is not going to swing like Brooks Koepka or Dustin Johnson! But that does not mean we cannot build a great swing for us that produces results!
Here is the truth, a rare thing in the golf world. One lesson is not going to do it. No, you don't "have it" after 2 swings. Getting good at this game takes work. Often times that is hard, repetitive, redundant... even boring... work. You have to train your body to execute a golf swing and it is almost certain going to feel "weird" or different at first.
The trick is you have to know what "feels" or "patterns" to work on FIRST. When done properly and by proper instructors, fixing one issue will correct several others naturally, but if you start working on, or thinking about those "other" issues, you will get lost, confused, frustrated and may just give up. We are here to guide you.
At ROK Golf we do not force anyone into a specific swing like some other places out there. Your size, physical abilities / limitations, schedule, commitment and desire all factor into the proper swing for you. No two golf swings are the same so and there is not one fix for everyone. Our instructors look at the individual and use their experience to design the proper set of drills and changes to create the best swing for you. Sometime those are big changes and other times they are subtle.
Not all "drills" you see online are good for you. In fact some may be very bad for you and you cause more harm than good by using them. Are you steep, shallow? Do you keep the club on plane? Do you shallow early or late? Do you release the club properly? Do you use your lower body at all? You can't cure without a diagnosis. Likewise fixing one issue may correct several others so don't work on B, C or D when A will fix them all. Our instructors are there to determine the best strategy and sequence for you to get better, and explain it to you in a way you feel, understand and can see with our technology.
